Attending an inquest
If you are asked to give evidence at the inquest, you will be expected to attend. If you have any queries you should contact us.
Please note: You don’t need to attend an inquest if you’re not giving evidence.
When attending the inquest, you are you are usually free to leave and return to the inquest room at any point, unless you are giving evidence at that time.
Family members and friends are welcome to attend the court hearing and ask questions and there will be Court Officers/Coroners Officers/Volunteers on hand to greet and support.
Members of the public can attend, and the media are allowed to report on proceedings.
If attending court, please arrive 15 minutes before the inquest(s) start.
